Add summer drama with scarves from Ellen Brook
Okay, so I’m a bit of a drama queen. I admit it. Not so good for my husband and family, but fabulous for my wardrobe.
Especially in summer, when tanks, capris and sundresses are all anyone seems to wear, I like to add a little drama to the mix with a seriously huge statement necklace, notice-me shoes, or (my personal fave) a great scarf. Textile artist Ellen Brook’s Works on Silk are some of the best.
Ellen’s wraps and scarves are very lightweight and instantly transform any outfit. The scarves and wraps are made of floaty chiffon and these one-of-a-kind creations are beaded around the edges for a little extra summer flair.
Two of my personal favorites are pictured, but since of Ellen’s work is custom created the colors and images are up to you — let your imagine run wild
To see more of Ellen’s breathtaking creations, including wall mounted art, hanging silks, and of course, fabulous scarves, wraps and throws visit Works on Silk

Hi Susan,
I too am a drama queen (as regards the frequent and unabashed use of scarves and wraps) AND a fan of Ellen Brook’s work.
What you may not know and your readers may find interesting is that Ellen’s artistry extends to incredibly beautiful and ethereal silk “floaters” — works of art on silk meant to suspend from the ceiling or a wall and ‘float’ in a room.
Just this past month, Ellen provided two dozen of these exquisite pieces of art to create a breathtaking atmosphere for Kara’s annual fundraising gala held at the Hotel Sofitel in Redwood Shores. Guests were mesmerized by the array of colors and designs which helped to reflect the theme of our event “The Secret Garden.”
Ellen is not only gifted as an artist; she is generous! All of the silk floaters on display that evening were available to our guests (and remain so) with 40% of the purchase price going to Kara to fund the grief support services we provide to young children, teens and adults.
So wear your Ellen Brook designs with pride – they are not only beautiful, they represent an artist whose generosity is a beautiful gift to the community.
